Lumia 940XL: is it the new flagship Windows phone?
Well, it’s that time of year again. It’s been over a year since the release of the Lumia 930 and, with Windows 10 set to release on July 29th, one would think it’s time for a new revamped model to hit the market.
And that suspicion would be correct.
Thanks to the fine folks at NokiaPowerUser, curious readers can view the most up-to-date spec leak yet for the Lumia 940XL. According to NPU, the new model’s features will include: a slim design with Metallic unibody frame, a 5.7 inch, 2560 x 1440 resolution display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 with Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot, 5 MP FFC, 20 MP PureView camera, Short Pulse variable-tone LED Flash, Continuum for Phones support, Iris Scanner, Native Pen support, USB Type-C & Dual-Role support, and Windows 10.
Look out, Android market: Windows is moving on in. If the features stay, this would put the 940XL in direct competition with the Galaxy S6, Sony Xperia Z3+ and HTC One M9.
I would look for the phone to be released shortly after the global release of Windows 1o at the end of July.
