There is now a device that allows you to lock and unlock your door from anywhere. Installation does not require you to change anything about your existing setup. You can simply attach the Lockitron on top of your dead bolt lock. Then it will turn when your phone is near by or if you send a text message.
This lock and many other similar in design locks have been emerging and gaining popularity. Kickstarter recently starting denying home improvement projects, Lockitron gained over $2 million dollars from their website alone to continue production. There is clearly a demand for this type of device. It will be interesting to see all of the home devices that we use every day without even thinking about it become electronic and controlled by any mobile device.
