Google, the one of the world’s largest search providers is now one of the world’s fastest ISP’s. Google has been working on a network in Kansas City for a number of years now but has just put the finishing touches on it.
Google designed and implemented a fiber optic network in Kansas City that allows its users to browse the Internet at blazing speeds. Timewarner, Google competition in the area, offers Internet connection at a maximum speed of 50 Mbps, but while that may sounds fast, and it is compared to most peoples Internet connections, it doesn’t touch Googles 1Gbps (1000 Mbps).
Google has went as far as also offering free Internet service for seven years with speeds of 5 Mbps up and 1 Mbps down (The national average for Internet speeds) so long as customers pay the $300 charge to connect the service to their home.
