Google has announced end of support for XP, Vista, and OS X.
Google announced that it will no longer be supporting its Chrome browser on systems running Microsoft XP and Vista as well as Mac OS X versions 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8.
Starting April 2016, Google will no longer release updates and security fixes for their browser installed on systems running those older operating systems, which Microsoft and Apple no longer support.
The ending of support of Chrome on the older operating systems like Windows XP should come as no surprise as Google announced at the beginning of the year that it would only continue support for their Chrome browser on Windows XP systems through 2015. Google is strongly encouraging users to upgrade their systems to the latest operating system to continue to receive the latest updates and security patches.
I applaud Google for maintaining support for Chrome on the older operating systems for as long as they have. Remember, it’s been over a year since Microsoft officially ended support for Windows XP.
