Hybrid-Drives are a Passing Technology

Hybrid-Drives are able to fill a gap of being able to upgrade to a faster drive without the cost of a solid-state drive. This is about the only use for these drives, which is not bad but this tech will be phased out when solid-state technology becomes more cost affordable.

With this in mind, I would probably not purchase one of these drives unless I wanted a faster large hard drive. The 60 – 120 GB solid-state drives are affordable already. The larger Terabyte solid-state drives are still out of most peoples price range. If you would like to upgrade the speed of drives without purchasing a hybrid-drive you could purchase an additional drive and load you Operating System to the solid-state drive and this would increase your performance enough to notice.
