Winter is coming and you know what that means: Time to get a cuddle buddy lined up. A new iPhone app can help you find the perfect snuggle partner.
Cuddlr helps you locate people in your area who are down for a friendly cuddle. When you see someone you like, send them a “cuddle request” and they have 15 minutes to accept.
If they accept, you’ll both see each other’s location and you can send your potential cuddle buddy just one message to, perhaps, plan place to meet to exchange hugs. You’ll also get real-time updates and walking directions so you can find each other.
If this feels like a shortcut to a hookup app, think again.
“Unlike some other apps, Cuddlr is strictly about PG-rated experiences,” the app’s welcome screen states. “Keep the cuddle a cuddle.” So if you want to ask someone to dinner, wait until the end of the cuddle to make your requests.
After the cuddle is over, both partners will rate their cuddle experience. If you did well, you’ll get an upvote but if your cuddling skills fail, you’ll be downvoted. “You can tell how reliable a cuddlr someone is by looking at their scores,” the app says.
And of course, just like every other app, Cuddlr is linked to your Facebook account. The company promises to never post to the social network on your behalf and says only first names are exchanged. You’ll also need to let the app use your location, so it can show you potential matches in your area. If you’re having an awesome cuddle, snap a selfie and share it right from the app.
